Glossary Entry »Design« (GL-10)

A concept or plan that specifies the shape, characteristics and functions of a product. A product design can have one or more variants. Vendors are responsible for the design of their products and the end customers can choose which design variant they like.

Relevance for the planned software system

A design is needed to define a specific product. The design also distinguishes different products from each other.
